Even though they were a bit more, we felt comfortable and safe and ultimately it was our initial trust in them that made us choose them over a lower cost elsewhere. "My wife Peggy and I are old hands at the renovation game. We've had a couple of OK experiences, one very good and one total nightmare. So we were really gun-shy when it came to choosing a contractor to re-do our kitchen. The house has tremendous character - a high Victorian grand dame dating from 1882. It was important to us to find someone sensitive to our needs and the needs of the house.After meeting with a few "Kitchen" companies, which are in reality cabinet companies who work with independent contractors to get the actual work done, we were frustrated. Nobody could give us a global, all-inclusive quote on the job. A couple of contractors flat-out refused to do the job because it involved removing a bearing wall and supporting the opening with I-beams. Then Peggy found Gus Boulougouris in the Yellow Pages and from our first meeting (he was actually on time, a first!) we knew we'd found someone we could collaborate with. He quoted the whole job from soup to nuts and left us with a sense of confidence that he would make our dream a reality.

The project took longer than anticipated, mainly because we kept adding elements like roofing, new service entry etc. while we were at it. Gus and his team went "above and beyond" time and again. The project was an aesthetic and functional success, as the pictures attest (blue kitchen) and the experience was a pleasure. Gus took the stress out by being eternally cheerful and up-beat.
